When Bets Go Bad!
We all want to be millionaires, don’t we? As the saying goes, “Money is not God, but its nothing less than God”. People in US live with an American dream, to make it big someday, and enjoy lavish lifestyle, like the one they often see on TV. Few believe in hard work to earn every penny, and few believe in short cuts too. These are the kind of people who are blinded by the philosophy that fortune favors the brave, they only realize how immature their thinking was when their pockets are inside out.
Some of us here have a dream of becoming rich and famous in one night, and make a note of this, if you ask them what will they do with such a huge amount of money, they will be more than happy to show you the list of how they will dry up the easy earned treasure. And what an easy way gambling is, to earn more than what you have desired.
Going back into time, we all know that gambling was a national vice, but today around 32 states of US have some form of legal betting. The rate at which casinos are popping up shows a dangerous picture of what is about to come in near future. Fast life and higher standards of living has forced people subconsciously to earn dollars at faster rate, which gambling can provide.
Gambling has its downside, which people can’t see. They are merely interested in earning the one color money, and they want to earn it quickly. Many people don’t even realize, that in order to earn more money through gambling, they are spending their hard earned savings lavishly. As per the recent survey by the gambling industry, Americans lose nearly $90 billion annually, now doesn’t that question your inner self?. Several other studies conducted by financial organizations have also show that the bankruptcy rates are 29% higher in those countries where gambling is legal.
Not only does gambling affect your nation but also an individual on personal level. Those who adopt to gambling, thinking they might appear suave and somewhat like the rich and famous, mostly end up bankrupt and in debts. They spend their family savings, which would otherwise had been used for kid’s education and other family welfare plans. As most of the time, an individual spends time in casinos, they are unable to spend quality time with their friends and family. With no money left, family members don’t respect you and your decisions and many families split up forever.
So are you ready for a career in gambling?
