Texans Give The Finger To The Fed’s
Since the end of the American Civil War in 1865, there has never been a state closer to succeeding from the Union than the state of Texas. Texas has been talking big about telling the United States to f*ck off for a long time and the reasons that the residents of this mammoth state have been long considering succession are various. Recently though, the debate about healthcare in America has stoked the flames of outright rebellion to a fever pitch.
On Saturday, August 29th, 200 members of a pro-secession group held a rally in Austin Texas. Their claim: that the United States Federal Government is literally killing America by enforcing unconstitutional laws on the people. Like most of the other pro-secession groups, the reason that these Texans are telling the feds to f*ck off is a matter of State vs. Federal law. They feel that Federal Law is preventing them from making their own decisions and being in control of their own destiny, which is the exact same reason for the entire southern half of the United States to succeed from the Union back in 1861.
If you look at the major debates in American politics over the last ten years, they all boil down to matters of State vs. Federal law. Gay marriage? Lots of states want it, the feds don’t give a fuck. Marijuana legalization? Most states want it, but the feds REALLY don’t want that since it would cut into their profits. Health Care? Millions of Americans need it, but the insurance companies have the feds by the balls and those who need it the most will most certainly not get it as the system stands now.
It all boils down to one simple fact. The Federal Government is impeding on citizens rights to decide how to live their lives, and these political rallies are simply a symptom of the American public’s growing resentment of a gloated and corrupt federal government.
