Save Trees, Save Your Ass! -II
Human nature is such that we would think of screwing up things first and then try fixing it. Now why get into all this trouble when there is a better way and an easy way. What’s it? Well … this is just so much easier to “not do”. Till now we are paying for what we have done in the past and will continue to do so in future too. So, along comes the earth with her tsunamis and hurricanes and plagues, and we’re shocked because maybe we don’t have the power we thought we did. Maybe we aren’t in such control. It’s not as if it’s the first time that our herd has been thinned out, nor do I think it will be the last.
Constantly we are finding more and more about past civilizations. Things they achieved, things they knew, that we rediscovered without realizing that it wasn’t the first time around. It seems like mother nature could become a black widow; Just waiting for her chance to kill again. A mass murderer out of pure and simple necessity. How frightening is that?
Some argue that she kills us so that the strongest can and will survive, but even that logic is flawed now. Human beings can sustain false life with robotic hearts and prosthetic limbs. Only the rich will survive, not the strongest. Therefore support ‘hippy tree huggers‘. It’s not about saving the earth to preserve nature because it’s so super awesome. To me, it’s about saving the earth to preserve nature so we can live on. We could really do some great things, and have already done a few. We’ve made mistakes, we’ve become hostile and stupid, and drunk with power and filled too fully with greed. All this is true but we do believe in change too. Why not let our kids, grand children and great-grand children live in a wonderful place? A healthy place where pollution is a thing of the past, and hatred is just a word in history books. So what’s the message??? “Anyone with a conscience to plant a tree or two in their yard”. Try to start your own garden. Maybe even pick up trash when you see it on the side of the road. Who knows, maybe you’ll even feel encouraged to recycle. Because it’s not really about nature, it’s about ourselves, and we owe it to the future of the human race to make this world an better one. And let’s face it, if you’re a self-serving assh*le, you can think of it not so much as helping out your fellow man and future generations, but as helping yourself.
