Employees Cheaper Than Toilets? – I
This is just a thought we want to send out into the cosmos, or in this case, the internet. To be honest, we don’t know very much about other countries’ labor laws, but we are curious about the implication outsourcing has on them. we’ve heard of instances where a big business in the U.S. punished it’s union workers by not only threatening to take their jobs away, but cutting their wages, as well. It’s because of this, that we say that outsourcing actually lowers working conditions in other countries.
This may not seem like a huge concern for those living in the U.S., but it’s something that we think needs to be brought into the light. On top of saving money, businesses outsource jobs so that they can treat their employees with less consideration. They don’t want to have to provide “decent” working conditions, fair pay, insurance, or safety. They don’t want to take the time to worry about if their employees are happy, plus they don’t have to “waste” the money making sure that they are.Outsourcing is a great way for big business to make a maximum profit, by skimping on the “extras”. We don’t believe that businesses save all that extra money buying cheap parts but they save a lot of money because they employee cheap, dispensable labor workers to work in their factories, as well as make cheap, low quality products. This is a vicious cycle. There will always be cheap parts that can be made by cheap employees. Not only does this result in furthering the degradation of the world (by lowering the average income), it adds to the safety risks in the U.S.
