America On A High!

Prevent teens from drug abuseDrug abuse is no doubt one of the most serious problems America is facing today. Billions of dollars are being spent to prevent use of drugs and for treating those who are already affected by this killer addiction. Despite so many drug legislation in United States of America, we still see drug dealers operating, which has a corrosive impact on the youth and people of America. Once being addicted to drugs, victims are willing to do anything and pay any amount which can get them drugs, which leads to increase in crime rates too.

Drug dealers look out for places where the demand for drugs is relatively high. And what better place they can find than schools and other educational institutions. School is the first place where kids interact with an outsider, make friends and form their social group. Drug dealers understand the advantages of dealing outside the school gate or campus, where they lure teens towards this death trap. Teens have high curiosity levels, and hence, it is more easy for drug dealers to attract them towards the use of drugs. Thanks to celebrities who set bad examples for these tender minds.

Even if one teenager gets addicted to drugs, the addiction spreads like a wild jungle fire. As more and more teenagers try out what it feels like taking drugs, there seems to be no turn around for the ones who get hooked to this. Even those teens who know that drugs are not good, succumb under the peer pressure to get accepted. Gradually, drugs becomes their way of life.

America’s National Institute of Drug Abuse has launched various programs and seminars, where teens are educated about this vice, and how they can combat this menace. Schools are asked to spread more awareness about the ill effects of drugs to the students. Also, the drug laws and police enforcement nearby schools are tightened to curb any such situations. Those who are already victims of this menace, are given appropriate medical treatment and people are being educated to treat such victims as patients, who are in need of support and love, instead of isolating them with hatred and abuse.

Although, it might seem a little hard to crackdown this drug abuse vice amongst teenagers. We have to come up with new ways to tackle this wave of addiction, that might, if ignored, sweep away the future of America.  Say NO to drugs, save America,
